An Allentown woman was issued a citation for allegedly driving at an unsafe speed, after Lower Saucon Township Police said she lost control of her vehicle while driving eastbound in the 1300 block of Seidersville Road Saturday morning, slid into the westbound lane, and then hit a building and fence on the north side of the roadway.

In a news release issued Monday, police said Jennifer Velez, 29, of the 100 block of Chestnut Street, had extricated herself from her car by the time officers arrived shortly before 11 a.m. at the scene, and told them she wasn’t hurt.

A winter storm brought snow, sleet and freezing rain to the area early Saturday, although police didn’t say whether weather conditions played a role in the crash.

Lower Saucon Township Police say an Allentown woman slid across Seidersville Road Saturday and struck this building and fence in the 1300 block.
