A 16-year-old boy is facing charges after Lower Saucon Township Police say he was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after he was stopped on Drifting Drive Jan. 29 as part of an investigation into what police described as “a paving company defrauding residents.”

In a news release issued Tuesday, police said the boy was found to be driving without a license and also had a three-year-old child in the vehicle who was not restrained in a car seat.

They said the truck the boy was driving was “involved in the fraud” and that charges are pending in that case.

The boy has been charged in juvenile court with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without a license and a child restraint system violation, police said.

In another recent case involving a paving scam, township police said a couple on Springtown Hill Road were defrauded out of $4,500 in late January by several men who didn’t complete work on their driveway.
