Fire crews from throughout Saucon Valley raced to the scene of a reported possible fire at Browns Laundromat, 78 W. Water St., Hellertown, early Tuesday evening.

Eyewitnesses reported that W. Water Street in that vicinity was closed in both directions as of 7:15 p.m.
An adjacent business owner said a laundromat customer reportedly smelled an odor and dialed 911, summoning the police and fire response.

Firefighters remained on scene checking vents throughout the building–which is attached to a beer distributor–as of 7:30 p.m.
There have been no reports of injuries as of this time, and the incident appeared under control as of about 7:30 p.m.
