A serious three-car accident with injuries temporarily closed the intersection of Easton and Lower Saucon roads in Lower Saucon Township Wednesday evening.

Lower Saucon Township Police said Thursday that a Hellertown woman has been cited with a left-turn violation as a result of an accident she allegedly caused at the intersection of Easton and Lower Saucon roads shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

In a news release police said Martha Rancke was westbound on Easton Road when she attempted to make a left turn onto Lower Saucon Road but failed to yield the right of way to an eastbound vehicle driven by Margarita Daly of Easton.

“This resulted in a head-on collision” and pushed Daly’s vehicle into a third vehicle operated by William Mills III of Hellertown that was stopped at the stop sign facing north on Lower Saucon Road, police said.

Police said there were injuries reported as a result of the crash and Dewey EMS and fire companies responded to the scene.
