A series of accidents Wednesday afternoon and evening, May 3, kept Lower Saucon Township Police and emergency and first responders busy, according to police news releases about them.

According to police, the first accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Flint Hill Road, when Mark Miranda, of the 2200 block of Easton Road, allegedly crashed into the back of a vehicle that was stopped because of PennDOT road work taking place that required the use of a flagger in that area.

The rear-end collision pushed the vehicle Miranda allegedly hit into the car in front of it, and two people suffered minor injuries for which they were transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital for treatment by Dewey EMS, police said.

Miranda will be charged with careless driving, they added.

A second crash happened at Hickory Hill Road and Pleasant Drive shortly after 3:30 p.m., when Brian Weber, of Bethlehem, “was changing his radio station and crashed into the back of another vehicle that was stopped on the roadway,” police said in a news release.

Weber will be charged with careless driving, they added.

A third accident happened on Rt. 378 south at Seidersville Road at about 4:15 p.m., police said, when a car driven by Erica Dimler of Coopersburg allegedly rear-ended a car driven by Michael Laporta of Hellertown.

“There were no injuries and both vehicles were driven from the scene,” police said, adding that Dimler will be cited for a summary violation of Following Too Closely.

The fourth and final crash, as well as the most serious accident of the day, happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Easton and Lower Saucon roads.

That accident involved three cars and resulted in injuries of unknown severity, township police said in a news release about it.
