Woman Hurt in I-78 Collision in Lower Saucon, Police Say

A 31-year-old Upper Macungie Township woman complained of back pain and was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital, Anderson Campus, following a crash in which she rear-ended a large box truck on I-78 East about two miles west of the Rt. 33 interchange in Lower Saucon Township around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A 31-year-old Upper Macungie Township woman complained of back pain and was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital, Anderson Campus, following a crash in which she rear-ended a large box truck on I-78 East about two miles west of the Rt. 33 interchange in Lower Saucon Township around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a story published by Lehigh Valley Live which cites state police at Belfast.

According to the story, the woman couldn’t stop and struck the back of the truck after its 33-year-old driver, of Waverly, Pa., suddenly decelerated when an unidentified vehicle in the right lane swerved into his lane before continuing east.
