Excitement in the Saucon Valley is palpable, as the Saucon girls varsity lacrosse team prepares for Round One of the PIAA State Playoffs for girls lacrosse, after claiming their first-ever District XI championship title last week.

The team will receive a Dewey Fire Company escort out of Hellertown on their way to meet Villa Maria (District I-Third Place), who they will play at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Emmaus High School.

Tickets will be available at the gate at Emmaus and are $6 for adults and $3 for students (there are no senior discounts at PIAA events).

The team will depart the high school at 3:15 p.m. and travel west on Walnut street to Main Street before proceeding north to the I-78 westbound on-ramp.

Residents and business owners are encouraged to come out and cheer for the team.

The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to the quarterfinal round and play either Radnor or York Catholic on Saturday, June 3 at a location and time still to be determined.

The Lady Panthers are coached by Jane Hoff.
