On the second day of honoring Panther football record holders, Saucon Source gives to you, Erik Sundlof.
Acting primarily as the kicker for the Panthers, Erik wore #6. He was listed at 5’6”, 153. Through his kicking efforts Erik finds himself in the Saucon Valley record books. His 29 PAT’s were good enough for 4th in Season PAT’s and also ties him for 6th in Career PAT’s. Erik is also in 5th place for Career Kickoff Yardage (2,199)
Who is 1st? Josh Snead (2013-2016) is credited with 74 Season PAT’s and 119 Career PAT’s. Snead is also 1st in Career Kickoff Yardage with 6,563 yards.
Erik said it: “My favorite football moment has to be coming out on the field for the very first time in the home opener against Bangor. It is something I will never forget.”
Coach Sams said it: “The first thing I want to say is that I really wish Erik would have played football all four of his years in high school. He just came out his senior year and made an immediate impact. He was our starting kicker for kick-off and extra-points. He also showed that he is not afraid of contact when he would frequently get his nose in tackles. Erik has a hockey background and it shows on the football field. He’s a tough dude! Also, Erik has tremendous speed. He flashed it several times on the field when he got his touches at running-back. Erik was very well liked by his teammates and was a pleasure to coach! ”
Congrats Erik, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
