According to state police, Lindsey Frain, 31, was struck as she was walking east in the westbound lane near the center concrete barrier of Rt. 22 Thursday at about 9:30 p.m.

Police said Monday that Frain was just east of the Airport Road (Rt. 987) interchange when she was hit.

They stated in a news release that Frain “stepped into the westbound lane of travel” when she was struck by a vehicle described as a “white truck tractor and semi-trailer” that continued west on Rt. 22.

Frain was taken by Northampton Regional EMS to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill for treatment of injuries following the accident.

Anyone with information about the crash should contact Tpr. Christian Keller of the Pennsylvania State Police at (610) 861-2026.

Frain is the sister of Kimberly Frain, who started and administers the popular Hellertown, Pennsylvania Facebook group, which has more than 3,100 members.

Kim Frain herself was the victim of an accident in which she was a pedestrian in Lower Saucon Township two-and-a-half years ago. After being struck by a car near the Giant Food Store entrance on Rt. 412, she underwent rehabilitation and ultimately recovered.

Kim Frain said her sister has serious injuries and remains hospitalized as a result of the accident, in which she suffered 10 broken ribs, a broken scapula and a “bad cut” on her leg.

“She has a tube in her throat that they told me yesterday–when I was there–that they’ll be taking out today,” Frain said Monday.

“They don’t know if her bones in her leg or broken or how bad the leg is yet,” she added.

She also asked for prayers for Lindsey in a post in the group Sunday.
