So many were blessed to learn valuable lessons and receive kindness and winning smiles (and an occasional lizard-face) from Dawn Gail Walker Dubbs, of Hellertown, during her 71 years. Dawn passed away on Sept. 17, 2018 while holding the hand of her husband and best friend, Barry.

So many were blessed to learn valuable lessons and receive kindness and winning smiles (and an occasional lizard-face) from Dawn Gail Walker Dubbs during her 71 years.Dubbs Dawn, of Hellertown, Pa., passed away on Sept. 17, 2018 while holding the hand of her husband and best friend, Barry. Dawn was born at the 317th U.S. Army Station Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany, on July 23, 1947 to the late Joseph Camden Walker and June Hoffman Walker. Dawn was the oldest of four children and is survived by her sister, Karen L. Okie, and brother, Stephen J. Walker; brother, Bruce Walker, predeceased her. Dawn graduated from Northampton High School in 1965, West Chester State College (with a BA degree) in 1969 and Lehigh University (with a M.Ed degree) in 1974. She married Barry Arthur Dubbs at the Old Chapel of Central Moravian Church on May 25, 1974. Dawn was a dedicated educator, teaching kindergarten, third grade and instructional support in the Bethlehem Area School District (SD) for more than 30 years. In addition, she taught at East Penn SD as well as undergraduate classes at Cedar Crest College, Northampton Community College and Moravian College. Dawn treasured her husband; children: Lindsay Laura Dubbs and Nathaniel Walker Dubbs; their respective spouses: Corey Adams and Caroline Dubbs; pets: Finnegan and Phoebe; and countless others with whom she shared her wisdom, silliness and culinary prowess. Her light lives on through her most precious grandchildren, Ezekiel Walker Dubbs and Rowan Walker Adams. Dawn equally loved to explore new places with her husband and friends and to return to her meticulously kept home surrounded by the woods and flower gardens. Her family and friends will cherish memories of her quick wit and offbeat sense of humor, kindness, creativity in cooking and decorating, and upbeat approach to life.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at Central Moravian Church, 73 W. Church St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Online memorial tributes may be recorded at  www.heintzelmancares.com.
