- 9-0 WINNERS over Yardley-Makefield Soccer Flash
- Coaches: Anders Isaksson and Cora Snyder
Undefeated FC Steel ’09 Girls made the trip to Yardley to take on the Yardley-Makefield Flash on Saturday. Less than a minute into the game Giuliana Meyer took advantage of a blast on goal by teammate Kayla Snyder that deflected off the goalkeeper and deposited it into the back of the net. Steel never looked back and kept rolling with goals by Sophia Isaksson (3), Kayla Snyder, Sophia Shutkufski, Charlotte Patterson and another by Meyer. With only two games remaining, the ’09 Girls are keeping the dream of an undefeated season alive!
FC Steel Boys’
’06 Orange
- 2-0 WINNERS over Passaic Youth Soccer
- Coaches: Scott Cullen and Brandon Chambers
In a game that some billed as the “City Slickers” v. “Country Bumpkins”, the FC Steel ’06 Boys Orange team travelled to Pulaski Park in Passaic, New Jersey to take on the first-place Passaic Youth Soccer program. The Steelers did not disappoint. Midfielder Michael Deluhery broke the ice about fifteen minutes into the game with a laser from just outside the 18-yardline that found the back of the net. Twelve minutes later, Logan Thrash flashed a little fancy footwork and followed up with some insurance from the wing. Steel goalkeeper Shane Brobst saved the day the rest of the way for Orange and pitched a 2-0 shutout. FC Steel ’06 Orange is currently crushing it!
’06 Black
- 1-1 Draw with Newark Cedar Stars
- Coaches: Brandon Chambers and Scott Cullen
On a chilly and blustery Sunday, FC Steel ’09 Black were back in action on their home turf at Penn State Lehigh Valley against the Cedar Stars of Newark. The Stars got up early with a 1st half goal. Steel was able to get settled in and start to play the way they are capable of playing. FC Steel was rewarded for their efforts about half way through the second half when the Stars goalie attempted to clear the ball after a Cain Wessner shot. But, the goalie’s efforts were spoiled when the ball was intercepted by Tanner Riefenstahl who took a quick dribble to space. Riefenstahl then immediately shot a low roller that beat the keep for a score toward the far post. With the draw, the Steelers enacted a little revenge as the Cedar Stars defeated Steel in the season opener 5-2.

The Boys ’07 Black team had an impressive 4-0 win on Saturday against the Fine Touch Futsol Academy Premier Gunners. Dante Keen scored the first goal off of a free kick. Bryan Higgins scored the 2nd goal off an assist from Nathan Morales. Jayden Olivencia pretty much walked right into the net with the ball and tapped it into the corner for the 3rd goal as if the keeper wasn’t even there. John Hanna had a nice shot right into the net for their 4th goal. As always, the defense was solid keeping their opponents at bay with goal keepers Joey Varano and Bryan Higgins stopping the balls that were able to make their way toward the goal. This team is on fire!
