Margaret Best (Smith) Wohlbach, a former Denny’s waitress, 97, of Allentown, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.

Margaret Best (Smith) Wohlbach, a former Denny’s waitress, 97, of Allentown, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home.Margaret Best She was born in Riegelsville on May 15, 1921 to the late Frank and Laura (Dilts) Smith. She was a waitress for 30 years at Denny’s-Allentown, where the patrons knew her as “Marge.” She retired in 2013, just shy of her 92nd birthday. Margaret attended St. Luke’s Old Williams Lutheran Church, Williams Township. She was an avid baker and shared dozens of cookies with family and friends. She loved to play the slot machines along with planting flowers in the garden, but most of all she loved the quality time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made life fun.

SURVIVORS

Daughter: Sharon Strouse of Allentown; grandchildren: Karen Anderson (Scott) of Arvada, Colo., and their children Josh and Zach; Timothy and his four children; Sherry; and Jennifer (Michael) Dorn, all of Pennsylvania. Margaret was predeceased by son: Wilbur Wohlbach; and seven siblings.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
