Joseph R. Caron (1943 – 2024)
Joseph R. Caron, 80, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 at his residence. He was the husband of Marie A. (Murphy) Caron. Joseph was born in Fort Kent, Maine, on Dec. 22, 1943 to the late Omer and Marie Ann (Bouley) Caron. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Joseph worked in Sales, Claims & Finance at the former Bethlehem Steel for over 40 years, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown, and was devoted to his Catholic faith; a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus; and a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Joseph enjoyed all sports, and especially playing softball with many different leagues through the years. He loved his New York Yankees. Joseph was a loving and supportive husband, father and beloved Fa to his grandchildren.
SURVIVORS
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 58 years; children: Daniel J. (Dena) of Apollo, Denise A. (Timothy) Krell of York, S.C., Nicole A. (Ty) Somers of Center Valley, Andrea C. (Dustin) Weismiller of Coopersburg; brother: Reno (Martha) Caron of Roy, Wash.; 7 grandchildren: Robyn, Nicholas, Helena, Randy, Ava, Hannah, Elle; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter: Deanna Caron; siblings: Francis Shepard, Paul Caron, John Caron, Dolores Plourde, Theresa Caron, David Caron, Michael Caron.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to Joseph’s visitation period from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 and 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Friday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The visitation period will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Church of the Assumption of the BVM, Bethlehem. The interment will conclude services at Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township. A funeral repast will be held at the Carriage House at Heintzelmans immediately following the graveside service.
