A 38-year-old man was killed in a fiery crash on Kings Highway in Lower Milford Township early Monday morning.

Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio announced the man’s death in his Dec. 2 press briefing.

Buglio said the accident happened in the area of Kings Highway and Janes Lane, where the man’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

“The vehicle did catch fire,” the release said.

Buglio said the man was pronounced dead at 5:21 a.m. He said his name will not be released until an autopsy has been conducted, he has been positively identified and his family has been notified.

This process could take several days “due to the severity of the fire trauma,” the coroner noted.

The accident is also under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville.

Monday’s crash follows two other fatal accidents that recently occurred in southern Lehigh County. An Upper Saucon Township woman was killed in an accident in Upper Milford Township on Nov. 23, and an Upper Saucon Township man died following a Nov. 25 crash on Oakhurst Drive in Center Valley.
