Gastropub Opens at Lehigh University

Lehigh University has opened a brand-new, full-service gastropub inspired by European bistros.
The Lehigh University Pub had a soft opening last week, and on Tuesday opened its doors to the public at the Clayton University Center on the school’s Packer Campus this week.
“We are excited to invite the community to the Lehigh University Pub in the reimagined Clayton University Center, the heart of our campus,” said Chris Cook, interim vice president for finance and administration at Lehigh University.
“The pub will elevate the dining experience for our campus community while bringing together students, faculty and staff, as well as our neighbors and visitors to enjoy great food and build lasting relationships in a unique space that represents both Lehigh’s history and future,” she added.
The restaurant’s atmosphere is described as both modern and casual, with comfortable spaces in which to relax. There is space for small-group private dining as well as planned entertainment and special events.
The a la carte gastropub offers menu choices such as Korean chicken sliders, Brown and White Potstickers, an 1865 Burger and Croque Madame. Some entrée options include Grilled Atlantic Salmon and Thai Curry Cauliflower. Salads and sandwiches, along with gluten-free options, are also available.
In a hurry? Food will be available for both dine-in and to-go. How about a thirst quencher? The Lehigh University Pub will have plenty of craft beers and quality wines courtesy of alumni supplier partners available on its drink menu.
Wayne County-based Settlers Hospitality–which operates Bethlehem’s Sayre Mansion inn–has partnered with Lehigh for the creation of the new pub. Settlers CEO Justin Genzlinger is a 1999 Lehigh graduate.
“It’s especially meaningful to be able to expand Settlers Hospitality’s presence in the region through this partnership with Lehigh University,” said Genzlinger. “Collaborating with the university and design team on the revitalization of the historic Clayton University Center was extremely rewarding. This new gastropub uniquely dovetails the historic architecture with a modern aesthetic to introduce the first-of-its-kind dining experience for students, faculty, guests and the general public,” he added.
The pub is located on the third floor of Clayton University Center and will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. For more information or to make a reservation, visit the pub’s website.
