Man Accused of Stealing Over $3K in Quarters, $2 Bills

A Schuylkill County man is accused of stealing more than $3,000 in quarters and $2 bills as well as other items from a home in Nockamixon Township, Bucks County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin, 42-year-old Erik R. Meulstee of Pottsville took 10 boxes of “12 mint quarters” valued at $2,040, one thousand dollars in $2 bills, a Husqvarna chainsaw valued at $350, Husqvarna weed whackers valued at $1,000 and miscellaneous other items valued at $10 from a home on S. Park Road in the Ottsville section of the township.

A news release published Tuesday said the theft was reported to state police on March 31.

According to court records, Meulstee is charged with Felony 1 burglary, Felony 2 criminal trespassing, Felony 3 theft and Felony 3 receiving stolen property, and is currently incarcerated at the Bucks County Correctional Institution in lieu of 10 percent of $100,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for Monday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. before Bucks County District Judge Gary Gambardella in Ottsville, according to the case docket.

The docket did not list an attorney for Meulstee.
