Part of Rail Trail in Lower Saucon to Be Closed for Utility Work
Visitors to the Saucon Rail Trail in Lower Saucon Township are being advised to expect intermittent closures for utility work between Old Mill and Meadows roads in June and July.
According to an advisory emailed to subscribers by the Lower Saucon Township Police Department Thursday, the closures are for work being performed by PPL.
Police said that there will be advance notice of trail closures via signs that will be placed on the crossing gates at each intersection.
Photos included with Thursday’s Nixle alert show signs on the Meadows and Old Mill gates advising walkers, runners and cyclists that there will be intermittent closures between June 2 and July 18 for “electric line improvement work.” The signs also state that there will be closures of the trail in that area between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., June 2-3.
The Saucon Rail Trail stretches approximately seven miles from Hellertown to Coopersburg, passing through Lower Saucon and Upper Saucon townships in between the two boroughs. For more information about the trail, visit SauconRailTrail.org.
