Reported Rape at Lake Nockamixon State Park Was Made Up Story, Police Say

Police are investigating an incident in which a woman who was at a fishing pier in Lake Nockamixon State Park Monday was reportedly raped by 2 men.

UPDATE: Pennsylvania State Police now say the woman who reported being raped at Lake Nockamixon State Park has admitted to making up the story, according to numerous published reports. Police did not say whether they plan to file charges against the unidentified woman, but emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the public in light of the fact that the alleged assault didn’t occur, Lehigh Valley Live reported.

Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin are investigating a rape case in which a woman who was at a fishing pier in Lake Nockamixon State Park in Haycock Township Monday at around 5 p.m. was reportedly abducted by two men in a silver sedan (possibly a Honda Civic), taken to a different part of the large Bucks County park and sexually assaulted, WFMZ Channel 69 News reported Wednesday.

Lake Nockamixon State Park in Upper Bucks County is a popular recreation area for residents of surrounding areas, including the Saucon Valley area.

According to the story, one of the men was described as white, clean-shaven, between the ages of 20 and 25, six feet tall with a medium build and short brown hair, and wearing baggy jeans and a black V-neck T-shirt, while the other man was described as white with a small mustache, between the ages of 20 and 25, five feet eight inches tall with a medium build and blond hair, and wearing jeans, a red Under Armour T-shirt with the words “Under Armour” spelled out in white letters and a grey and red “snapback-styled hat” at the time the incident occurred.

Anyone with information about these men or who may have witnessed something is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin at 215-249-9191.
