Hellertown Post Office to Remain Open During Painting Project

If you see tarps and uniformed workmen scraping and sanding the trim on the Hellertown Post Office next week, there’ll be no need to fret that the branch is closed.

Bye bye, peeling paint. The Hellertown Post Office will soon be getting a bit of a makeover.

If you see tarps and uniformed workmen scraping and sanding the trim on the Hellertown Post Office the week of Aug. 20, you need not fret that the branch is closed.

Hellertown postmaster Joe DiRusso said in an email Monday that the borough post office will remain open while the work is under way. However, he said ā€œit might be a little hectic around the building due to the work being done.ā€

Weather permitting, the repainting is scheduled to begin Sunday, Aug. 19, and continue throughout the week.

DiRusso said ā€œcontractors will be working in environmental gear since the building is covered in lead paint.ā€

The post office is located at 660 Delaware Ave., Hellertown, Pa. It is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to noon.
