Bar Louie Will Open at Promenade Shops This Fall
The space formerly occupied by Shula’s steakhouse in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley hasn’t been empty for long–and it won’t be empty much longer, according to an announcement included in a Promenade Shops Fall Styles email Tuesday.
The bar/restaurant chain Bar Louie will open its first establishment in the Lehigh Valley area in Suite 700 at the Upper Saucon Township shopping center this fall, the email confirmed.
Bar Louie has about 100 franchise locations throughout the U.S. currently, with the nearest as of this writing being restaurants in Bensalem, Bucks County and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, according to the Bar Louie website, which lists an October 2015 opening date for the Center Valley store.
According to a description of a Bar Louie posted on the Orlando Sentinel website, the chain “specializes in oversized sandwiches and artfully concocted signature cocktails, and offers an extensive selection of appetizers, pastas, entrees and a wide assortment of interesting beers, microbrews and wines by the glass or bottle.”
“This casually cool neighborhood restaurant and bar features warm, upbeat surroundings with contemporary photography, mosaic tiling, wood-paneled walls, modern lighting and plasma TVs,” it says.
Shula’s left the Promenade Shops earlier this summer to move to a revitalized downtown Allentown.

Suite 700 is located next to the Mexican restaurant Torre, along the Promenade Shops’ outer perimeter in a section of the center some have likened to a “restaurant row.”
More information about Bar Louie can be found on the company’s website.
According to the website, server, bartender, line cook and other positions are being filled.
