Nursing Home For Sale Lower Saucon
The former Weston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is listed for sale in Lower Saucon Township. What do you think should replace it?

A landmark nursing home in Lower Saucon Township has been listed for sale for the first time in more than a decade.

The former Weston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at 1896 Leithsville Road, Hellertown, is listed by Michael Dorney of Weichert Realtors in Bethlehem for $4.7 million.

Built in 1976 as the Mary Ellen Convalescent Home, the 16,000 square foot facility sits on 15 acres, according to the listing.

“The property’s location is a key value driver, situated in a booming healthcare corridor with a high demand for senior care services,” a description notes. “It is in close proximity to major medical facilities, including new developments by St. Luke’s and Lehigh Valley Hospital, which are driving significant growth and a strong patient referral base in the area.”

The listing also notes that “the substantial 15-plus acre residential lot provides a serene and spacious environment, offering ample room for potential expansion, additional residential units or the creation of new amenities and outdoor spaces.”

The “turnkey” property is not served by public sewer and is located in the township’s General Business Commercial District zoning district, according to the listing.

Annual property taxes on it are approximately $40,000.

According to Northampton County property records, it was last sold for $1.4 million in April 2013, when it was purchased by Weston Senior Living Centers from the owner-operators of the former Mary Ellen Convalescent Home, Harold and Nancy Keck.
