Man Who Secretly Recorded Sex with Woman Convicted of Invasion of Privacy

A Lehigh County man who attempted to use sex videos he had secretly recorded to blackmail an Upper Saucon Township woman was recently convicted of invasion of privacy and other charges.

Jarrett Klinger, 42, of Slatington, was convicted following a trial by jury late last month.

According to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office, the Upper Saucon Township woman is his ex-girlfriend.

The woman told police in July 2022 that Klinger was harassing her, and authorities said a subsequent investigation revealed that Klinger had sent the woman a video of them having sex that had been filmed without her knowledge or consent.

According to the DA’s office, Klinger “threatened to release that and other videos if (the woman) didn’t meet with him or talk to him.”

In addition to three counts of Invasion of Privacy, Klinger was also found guilty of one count each of Unlawful Dissemination of an Intimate Image and Harassment.

The DA’s office said that in addition to being required to register as a sex offender in Pennsylvania for 15 years, Klinger could face a maximum sentence of 7 to 14 years in state prison when he is sentenced by Lehigh County Judge James T. Anthony Aug. 26. At that time, a hearing to determine if Klinger meets the requirements to be classified as a sexually-violent predator will also be held.

The news release indicated that following Klinger’s conviction, his bail was revoked and he was remanded to the Lehigh County Jail.

The case was investigated by Upper Saucon Township Police Sgt. Dane Carroll and Sgt. Deron Dorward and prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney-Special Victims Unit Sarah K. Heimbach.
