Robert Lawrence ‘Larry’ Brunner (1941 – 2026)

Robert Lawrence “Larry” Brunner, 85, of Northampton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Linda L. (Bausch) Brunner, who passed in 2019. Born in Los Angeles on May 7, 1941, Larry was the son of the late Mary (Stout) and Robert T. Brunner. He faithfully and honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era and was a member of the Army National Volleyball Team. Larry was a graduate of Burbank H.S., San Jose State University (Sigma Chi fraternity) and University of Missouri at Kansas City (MBA). His 45-year career in industrial operations management included employment at Mattel Toys, Butler Manufacturing and Detroit Tool Metal Products, with relocations to Michigan, Missouri, Georgia, New Jersey, the Poconos and back to Missouri before retiring in 2008. Throughout his life, Larry remained active in his church and community. He was a former member of Grace United Church of Christ in the Poconos and previously served as both an Elder and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange, Ga. An avid golfer with a hole-in-one to his credit, Larry was a member of the Lebanon Country Club in Missouri. He was an integral part of Chiefs Kingdom and a long-time Dodgers fan. He also enjoyed brewing his own beer, affectionately calling his creations “Bru Brothers.”

Sons: Robert Geoffrey Brunner and his wife, Alison, of Coopersburg, Robert Alan Brunner of Germantown, Md., James Michael Brunner and his wife, Andrea, of Holmdel, N.J.; sister: Kathryn Adair of Columbia, Mo.; grandchildren: Kaleigh, Nolan, Quincy, Owen and Adele Brunner.

SERVICES

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will conclude services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bucks County.
