On Saturday, May 7 at St. Ambrose School in Schuylkill Haven, a team of students from St. Michael the Archangel School in Upper Saucon Township defeated three other district winners to win the Diocesan Academic Bowl.
For the first time in school history Saucon Valley was able to qualify for Districts. The Panthers entered the 2016 tournament as the #6 seed and had to face an experienced and deep Easton squad who were awarded the #3 seed. The Red Rovers were the East Penn Conference championship runner-ups. Unfortunately, the Panthers came up short.

Local author and philosophy professor Tara Michele Zrinski is returning to her childhood alma mater, Freemansburg Elementary School, to share her new book with third grade classes May 19. The book, “All Ducks Are Birds (But, Not all Birds are Ducks),” written and beautifully illustrated by Zrinski, is an introduction to logic for children.
