L. Saucon Festival That Ended 20 Years Ago to Be Remembered at Talk

A Lower Saucon Township festival that ended 20 years ago will be the subject of an April 8 talk at the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society at Seidersville Hall. “Sauconfest” began in August 1989 and continued to be held annually till 1995, when financial losses led to its discontinuation. According to information about “The Days of Sauconfest–Memories of the Lower Saucon Festival” published in the current edition of the LSTHS newsletter, “the main objectives of the event were to educate visitors about local history and to bring the Saucon Valley community together.” Lower Saucon Township councilwoman Priscilla deLeon–who was involved with the festival from its inception–will deliver the presentation with assistance from the society’s Danny Ruth, who will facilitate a slide show of deLeon’s photos. The talk will begin at 7 p.m. at Seidersville Hall, 3700 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem.
