Saucon Swimmers, Diver Are Off to States

Saucon Valley Panther swimmers Dan Keats, Kyle Kerr, Ryan Kerr, Milo Whitley and Noah Mauro are off to compete in the 2019 PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships.  Mauro, who is a two-time District XI champion, will compete in diving while his four teammates will participate in the 400 Freestyle Relay.  Ryan Kerr will also compete in the 200 Individual Medley.  Keats, the Kerr brothers and Mauro are juniors; Whitley is a sophomore.  The tournament, which takes place at Bucknell University’s Kinney Natatorium, starts on Wednesday and will conclude on Saturday.

For the second straight year, the Saucon Valley Panthers could not advance to the second day of the PIAA wrestling championships.  After a hard-fought loss to the Muncy Indians earlier in the day, Saucon Valley quickly fell behind to the Harbor Creek Huskies and just could not generate enough momentum to overcome the early deficit.

Panthers Fall To Villa Maria In PIAA State Tournament

The Villa Maria Hurricanes blew into Emmaus last night to take on the Saucon Valley Panthers. Villa Maria took very little time to demonstrate the power of District I lacrosse. The Hurricanes quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead only four minutes into the PIAA AA State playoff game. The Lady Panthers courageously battled back, but the Hurricanes were much too much for the Panthers.

All 8 Saucon Valley Wrestlers Advance to Hershey

Eight Saucon Valley wrestlers made it to the PIAA “AA” regional tournament at Wilson West-Lawn over the weekend and all eight will now continue to the “Big Show” at Hershey. The Panthers demonstrated, once again, that they are a wrestling powerhouse. Overall the Panthers finished second in the team standings with 125 points–three points behind Boiling Springs.
