The Saucon Valley School Board voted Tuesday to adopt the district’s calendar for the 2015-2016 school year.
The new school year will begin on Monday, Aug. 31, although board members Edward Inghrim and Sandra Miller said they oppose scheduling the first day of school before Labor Day, which is Monday, Sept. 7.
Saucon has not had a post-Labor Day start of the school year in a number of years.
The complete 2015-2016 calendar is posted on the school district website. It includes 184 days of instruction for students and 192 days for teachers, who will begin their year on Thursday, Aug. 27.
