Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Monday that two people were taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital following a three-car, chain reaction-type accident on Rt. 378 near Dr. Feelgoode’s Friday.

According to police, the accident occurred at 4:38 p.m. when driver Shaun Mann, of Willow Grove, failed to stop for traffic that was backed up on Rt. 378 North approaching the Black River Road intersection.

Police said Mann’s vehicle “slammed into the rear of a sedan” driven by a Bethlehem man, which was pushed into a third car driven by a Bath man.

Mann and a woman who was a passenger in the vehicle he allegedly struck were both taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash, police said.

Mann will be cited because of the accident, they added.
