Lower Saucon Township Police are hoping to identify the driver of a full-size black pickup truck who allegedly rear-ended another motorist on Seidersville Road Friday and then fled the scene.

In a news release issued Monday, police said the accident happened at the intersection of Seidersville and Rt. 378 at 3:15 p.m., when the pickup ran into the back of a vehicle driven by an Allentown woman.

Police said the collision propelled the woman’s car to the side of the road, where it struck a guide rail.

“The truck reportedly went around her vehicle and was last seen traveling (east) on Seidersville Road towards Hellertown,” authorities added.

Anyone with information about the driver of the truck or the accident, which is being investigated as a hit-and-run, is asked to contact township police at 610-317-6110.
