‘Denim to Diamonds’ Dinner Dance Will Benefit Troops, Vets

The Blue Star Mothers of the Lehigh Valley are planning a “Denim to Diamonds” dinner dance that will help raise funds for their organization, which provides care packages to deployed troops, assists veterans in financial crisis, holds welcome-home parties for returning military, hosts Christmas parties for the children of deployed military, and engages in community outreach, among other things.

The dinner dance is planned for Saturday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Farmhouse at Buena Vista, 3501 Main Road East, Emmaus, PA.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m. and a hot buffet dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Beer will be provided, or attendees can BYOB.

A DJ will spin tunes from 7 to 11 p.m. and there will be raffle prizes and a 50/50.

Attire can be anything from casual (e.g. “denim”) to formal (e.g. “diamonds”), with most attendees wearing something in between.

The Blue Star Mothers of the Lehigh Valley are also seeking sponsors for the dance and donors of monetary gifts as well as for the basket raffle that will be held.

“Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will be recognized in our program that will be handed out to each person attending the dance,” a letter from Blue Star Mothers vice president and dance committee chairperson Debbie Henritzy states.

Sponsorships are available at the following levels:

  • Red Sponsor – $300 (includes four tickets to the dance)
  • White Sponsor – $200 (includes two tickets to the dance)
  • Blue Sponsor – $100 (includes one ticket to the dance)
