Two adolescent girls from Hellertown were charged with simple assault and harassment after police say they engaged in a fight after lunch at Saucon Valley Middle School Monday.

In a news release issued Saturday, the Lower Saucon Township Police Department said the girls “engaged in a mutual fight in the hallway of the school” at about 2:30 p.m.

“The fight had started over some rumors and comments being made,” they added.

One of the girls is 12 and the other is 13, and the charges were filed after both information and video evidence were reviewed, the news release indicated.
