A Hellertown man who was taken into custody on a bench warrant June 15 was allegedly found to be in possession of heroin at the time of his arrest, borough police said in a news release Monday.

According to police, Richard Cody Fluck, 28, of the 800 block of Detweiler Avenue, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance.

According to court records, the bench warrant was issued by the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas on Feb. 18, after Fluck allegedly violated probation.

Fluck was sentenced to 12 months of probation by Northampton County Judge Paula A. Roscioli after pleading guilty to intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person who is not registered in October 2015, the records indicate.

Conditions of his probation included maintaining full-time employment, submitting to random drug screenings and following up with any treatment recommendations, the documents state.
