An Allentown man is charged with disobedience to traffic control devices after Lower Saucon Township Police say he disregarded posted “Do Not Enter” signs at the intersection of E. University Avenue and Rt. 378, and pulled onto Rt. 378, where he was struck by a northbound vehicle Saturday evening.

In a news release issued Monday, police said Jacob Sanchez, of the first block of N. Seventh Street, was struck in the driver’s side fender in the 6:35 p.m. crash, which closed Rt. 378 for about 20 minutes while the vehicles were cleared from the road.

“There are signs posted on East University Avenue prohibiting traffic from pulling out onto Rt. 378,” police noted.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Sanchez’s vehicle was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital for treatment, the news release indicated.
