The former manager of the Pennsylvania Wine & Spirits Shoppe at the Creekside Marketplace shopping center on Rt. 412 in Lower Saucon Township will face trial on charges of receiving stolen property and theft, following his waiver of a preliminary hearing before District Judge David Tidd Wednesday, during which it was revealed that he allegedly stole more $4,200 from the store safe in February to help feed a heroin addiction, according to a story published by the Morning Call.

According to the article, Leon W. Lafevre, 53, of Centre Street, Williams Township, allegedly admitted in an interview with Lower Saucon Township Police Dept. Det. Christopher Leidy that he stole the money to buy heroin because he was addicted.

Lafevre remains free on $15,000 bail and is scheduled for a formal arraignment Sept. 29, according to court records.
