A Lower Saucon Township man who admitted to choking his girlfriend and assaulting her until she was black and blue in their Seidersville Road apartment in April has been kicked out of the Navy and was sentenced by Northampton County Judge Anthony Beltrami to 11 to 23 months in prison and two years of probation after pleading guilty to aggravated assault Thursday, the Morning Call reported.

According to the newspaper’s article, Indiana native Jeremy Earl Hasset, 42–who stands six feet, six inches tall and weighs more than 250 pounds–initially lied to police who responded to his residence after a neighbor reported hearing his girlfriend’s desperate cries for help, telling officers who asked if everything was OK that it was.
