Applicants Needed to Fill Borough Council Vacancy

Interested persons should submit a letter of interest and resume outlining their qualifications to Cathy Hartranft, Borough Manager, Borough of Hellertown, by March 2.

Hellertown Borough Council voted 5-1 Tuesday night to accept the resignation of John Bate, a councilman and former Dewey EMS captain who has been charged with theft from Dewey Fire Company.

Council is now seeking applicants to fill the vacancy created on council.

The term for the vacant seat ends Dec. 31, 2017.

Applicants must be registered to vote and residents of the borough.

Interested persons should submit a letter of interest and resume outlining their qualifications to Cathy Hartranft, Borough Manager, Borough of Hellertown, 685 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055, or by e-mail to c.hartranft@hellertownborough.org by Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2 p.m.

Interviews with applicants will be held at council’s next meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017.
