With the sale of Silver Creek Country Club announced yesterday on Saucon Source, we thought it’d be a good idea to give you a glance at the Championship Course that the Club has to offer.
A special thanks to Bart Tizio for extending a little Silver Creek hospitality to our group that included Saucon Valley golf coach Scott Roberts, Saucon Valley athletic director Bob Frey and myself. Bart is one of the golf professionals on staff at Silver Creek who showed us the lay of the land.

The marker on #1 at Silver Creek Country Club.
The view from #1 tee box shows a hole that plays 409 yards uphill with a tough green to negotiate.
The view from the #2 tee box. It is a short Par 4 that plays about 290 yards. Are you thinking driver?
Trees to the left, trees to the right. And, a big tree right in the middle! #3 is a Par 4 that plays 375 yards long and requires a little thought.
#4 is a 190 yard downhill Par 3. You may think it is an easy score, but the green isn’t always very friendly.
#5 is a straight away 500 yard Par 5 from the White tees.
#6 is a 419 yard Par 4. Bart will shape his shot left to right and play the slope down toward the green.
#7 is a short Par 4 at 347 yards that bends uphill to your right. The hole’s difficulty is masked by elevation change and a small undulating green guarded by a couple of deep sand traps .
#8 is a 155 yard Par 3. Obviously, you don’t want to be short with the pond, but there can also be big trouble behind the green if you are long.
The sign for #9.
#9 is 518 yards long and tight. This Par 5 is certainly no gimme.
A couple of friends came out to help me find my ball off the left side of the #9 fairway.
The #10 marker.
#10 is a Par 4 and measures 391 yards. It runs slightly downhill and doglegs left.
#11 is only 344 yards long. But, this Par 4 hole presents you with a 90 degree dogleg left on the way to a green that is flanked by a couple of formidable bunkers.
#12 is a 354 yard dogleg right. This Par 4 will likely convince you to keep your driver in the bag.
#13 is a 166 yard slight downhill Par 3. Watch out for the creek!
#14 is a 514 yard Par 5 that bends slightly to the right. Big hitters have a good chance to score here.
#15 is a short Par 5 at 466 yards. You may think it’s going to be an easy score, but that darn creek in front of the green makes you think twice.
#16 is a 174 yard Par 3 that plays longer due to its slight uphill location. Getting on the dance floor is hard enough, but you then find yourself dealing with a difficult green.
#17 is a 370 yard Par 4. Big hitters may try to take a shortcut over the trees but most play the dogleg right.
The #18 Tee box marker.
#18 is a 416 Par 4 that plays relatively straight back toward the Clubhouse. A difficult 2-tier green awaits your final shots. Good luck!
