George Charles Mease, 82, of Bethlehem, formerly of Kintnersville, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township.

George Charles Mease, 82, of Bethlehem, formerly of Kintnersville, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Sylvia Jean (Kressler) Mease. He was born in Bingen on Jan. 22, 1935 to the late Ernest and Amelia C. (Weiss) Mease. George worked for the Saucon Valley Country Club as a groundskeeper for 35 years until retiring. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Springtown. George was a graduate of Quakertown High School, playing left tackle on the football team (#37). He enjoyed golf, Arnold Palmer, gardening and watching the Palisades High School, Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football teams. He volunteered at the Springtown Vol. Fire Company breakfasts and was a member of the Northampton County 4-H Club, earning a championship in Black Angus Livestock.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 61 years; children: Jeffrey Charles (Sandra L.) Mease of Hellertown, Penny Jean (Jeffrey E.) Trees of Lancaster, Becky Sue Mease of Harrisburg; siblings: Edward Mease of Leithsville, Ruth Vogel of Coopersburg, Linford (Jacqueline) Mease of Texas; grandchildren: Caitlin Mease (Timothy) Ferraro, CPT Ryan Daniel Trees, U.S. Army, and Lindsey Nicole Trees. He was predeceased by siblings: Arthur and Robert Mease.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 1 p.m. The interment will conclude services at Springtown Cemetery. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
