Want to know when the Borough of Hellertown’s Public Works Department will pick up leaves on your street this fall? Please refer to the timetable below.

Leaf pickup will begin in the Mountainview neighborhood on Monday, Oct. 30 and continue through mid-December. The schedule is weather-dependent and also subject to change depending on the volume of leaves to be collected.

Leaves should be raked into gutters before the scheduled pickup week to help facilitate collection. In an effort to prevent damage to its equipment, the borough will not pick up any leaves mixed together with tree branches, shrubbery or trash.

Residents are asked to use off-street parking on the day of their street’s collection.

Leaf composting is permitted and residents are encouraged to compost their leaves if possible. Pursuant to state recycling laws leaves are no longer picked up along with regular garbage because they are not permitted in the landfills.
