Alex W. Poczak, 69, of Bethlehem Township died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Bernadine P. (Poehler) Poczak. He was born in Allentown on Feb. 14, 1948 to the late Doris K. (Quier) and Alex Poczak. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Alex was in the Maintenance Department at Weis Markets, Eastern PA, for 22 years until his retirement. Alex’s greatest joys were spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife of 31 years; children: Tammy A. (Jonathan) Royer of Mechanicsburg, Terence E. (Lynne Madnick) Poczak of Rockville, Md., Terry M. Winter of Bethlehem, Adam C. Dembrosky of Hellertown, Robert A. Dembrosky in Louisiana, Michael D. Dembrosky of Bethlehem; siblings: William D. (June) Poczak of Bethlehem, Alice M. (Thomas R.) Wackerman of Souderton, Doris T. Barbieri in Florida; son-in-law: Mark D. Winter of Lehighton; 9 grandchildren.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 and  10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Monday will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. Monday. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery, Quakertown. Military honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
