Junior Jared Harka

On the sixth day of showcasing Panther football record holders, Saucon Source gives you junior, Jared Harka.

Wearing #61, the 1st Team All Colonial League guard is listed at 5’9″, 200. Jared also earned 2017 Colonial League recognition for his tough play as a defensive lineman. From the defensive side of the ball, Jared has 30 Season Tackle Assists which ties him for the 15th spot. The 30 assists are also good for the 27th position for Career Tackle Assists. In addition, Jared has 41 Season Solo Tackles that are good for a share of the 17th spot.

Who’s #1 for assisted tackles in a season? Christian Carvis (2015) gathered 82 assists.

Who’s #1 for tackle assists in a career? Carvis (2012-2015) had 129 career assists.

Who’s #1 for solo tackles in a season? Ian Gimbar (2007-2010) had 99 solo tackles.  Gimbar went on to star at Muhlenberg College.

Coach Phil Sams said it: “Jared Harka was a 1st team all league guard for us along with honorable mention defensive tackle. One word sums up Jared…awesome! He is such a hard worker and he has talent to go along with that work ethic. Probably the most impressive part of Jared was the fact that he was a starting middle linebacker for us for the first three games and then made the switch to the defensive line. When he made that switch, the results were immediate. He is such a force and moves very well for a lineman. We are so happy to have players like Jared in our program! The best part about Jared is the fact that he is only a junior. Can’t wait for 18!”

Congratulations Jared, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
