The Springfield Township Police Department is urging residents to keep their garages, sheds and other accessory buildings locked after ATVs and dirt bikes were reported stolen from homes along Mine Road and Salem Road east of Rt. 309 Thursday afternoon.

In a post published on the department’s Crimewatch page, police said owners of those types of vehicle should make sure all identifying information is documented and/or photographed, including serial numbers, VIN numbers and distinguishing features.

Anyone in the area who observes suspicious vehicles and/or people is asked to call police immediately. The phone number for the Springfield Township Police Department is (610) 346-7600.

The investigation into the thefts involves “multiple other police agencies,” and the post about it was “deliberately vague,” the department’s post indicated.
