Saucon Creek Arts Festival Celebrates History, Art in Saucon Valley

The Saucon Valley Conservancy held its 4th Annual Saucon Creek Arts Festival at the historic Heller Homestead Park in Lower Saucon Township Saturday, and the event attracted quite a crowd.

Along with more than 50 juried artists exhibiting their paintings, fine art photography, ceramics, jewelry and much more, the festival featured live entertainment, children’s activities and guided tours of the Heller House and the Four Square Herb Garden.

The Colony Meadery was there to sell its mead–a honey-fermented drink–and the Lehigh University Füd Truk partnered with local gourmet grocery store, Saylor’s & Company, to offer healthy food options, festival favorites and breakfast items.

Members of the Colonial Quilters Guild showcased their quilts in the Homestead Gallery, while Dave Fry and Godfrey Daniels returned to provide live music throughout the day.

The Heller Homestead is adjacent to the Saucon Creek and near the Saucon Rail Trail, just outside Hellertown.

The Saucon Valley Conservancy receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

After his retirement from Lehigh University, he enjoyed sports photography and his interaction with the participants of Saucon Valley sports teams. He also enjoyed “working at a locally-oriented publication, helping to present some of the activities and celebrations that define our wonderful community.” We thank Chris for his service to Saucon Source and the Saucon Valley.
