The “Mom Squad” was back on the gridiron for a fourth consecutive season. Saucon Valley head football coach Phil Sams along with his players and staff hosted the Saucon Valley high school football program’s mothers for a little sampling of what their sons will be experiencing with two-a-day practices scheduled to start next week.
About twenty members of the “Mom Squad” dodged Thursday night’s weather and showed up to learn a little offense, defense and special teams during the two-hour session. The skills and drills based practice ended with a field goal kicking contest where the Moms defeated the Sons in overtime.
It was indeed a steamy and sweaty night. But, it was well worth it. The night was dominated by countless smiles.
