John F. “Jack” Sharkey Sr., 89, formerly of Bethlehem Township passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown.
He was the husband of the late Margaret A. “Peggy” (Nelson) Sharkey. He was born in Philadelphia on Dec. 30, 1929 to the late Emmett J. and Mary C. (Ryan) Sharkey. John served our country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a manager for MAB Paints, Lehigh Valley for 42 years until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem Township.

(Kevin) Cope of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Frank McGimpsey, Michael Warfield, Lisa Anderson, Daniel Cope, Megan Hubbuch, Kate Yurasits, Courtney Franchio; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Lucas, Jack, Elsie, Henry, Julian, Grayce, Harper, Jenson, Sydney and Chloe. He was predeceased by a brother: Emmett Joseph Jr.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2019 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, 1817 First St., Bethlehem Township. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Military honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown.
