Dewey Fire Company Hosts Annual Fall Open House (Photos)

October is National Fire Prevention Month, which is why many volunteer fire companies host open houses this time of year. Dewey Fire Co. No. 1 in Hellertown is one of them, and once again residents flocked to the fire station for food, fun and fire safety education.

Highlights of Tuesday night’s event included demonstrations, tours of the Fire Safety Education House, the opportunity to see the fire company’s vehicles and equipment up close (or to “touch a truck” for the little ones) and of course the traditional free hot dogs.
