Willard J. Thomas Sr., 74, of Hellertown, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Inpatient Hospice, Allentown. He was the husband of Jo-Anne E. (Grogg) Thomas. Born in Coopersburg on March 19, 1945, he was the son of the late John C. and Flora (Koch) Thomas. Willard worked as a crane operator for the former Bethlehem Steel for 30 years until retiring. He was past president and a life member of Leithsville Volunteer Fire Company, Lower Saucon Township. Willard was the first person in Lehigh County to be in the Job Corps (training others) during the Kennedy years. He also worked at Bechdolt’s Orchard up until a month ago.

In addition to his wife; children: Willard J. (Maria) Thomas Jr. of Whitehall, Flora-Anne Mosley of Bristol, Tenn., Helen L. (Scott A.) Ziegler of Hellertown; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
SERVICE
A celebration of Willard’s life will be held at the Beethoven Waldheim Club, 1991 Waldheim Road, Hellertown, on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. Online memorial tributes may be recorded at HeintzelmanCares.com.
