With work well under way on their brand new facility along Rt. 378 in Lower Saucon Township, Motorcar Paint Protection plans to bring high quality paint protection and detailing services to the Bethlehem area when it opens this summer.
Ben Harmony, owner of Motorcar Paint Protection, has been in the automotive paint protection and detailing industry for five years. What started out as a part-time gig quickly grew into a full-time business for the past four years.
Harmony has been running Motorcar Paint Protection out of a personal garage in Center Valley, and opening up a new shop nearby is the next step in the company’s quick growth.
One of Motorcar Paint Protection’s most popular services is their paint protection film.
Harmony said the film acts like a screen protector for your vehicle.
“It’s clear. You can’t tell it’s there,” he said. “What it does is it prevents rock chips and scratches.”
The paint film is a transparent layer of urethane film that is about six mils thick. The film was originally invented to protect American helicopters during the Vietnam War, but today is widely used in the automotive industry.
Harmony said he uses the paint protection film on all types of cars, whether they are high-end or everyday models. He even offers various packages that range from covering portions of the front of the car to protection for the entire vehicle.
An added advantage of the urethane film is that it’s a self-healing material which can be repaired using a heat gun. The popular film protection even comes with a 10-year warranty.
Paint protection film is Motorcar Paint Protection’s most popular service. The film acts like a screen protector for your car’s paint, and protects the finish from rock chips and scratches.
Another popular service offered by Motorcar Paint Protection is ceramic coating. This is another paint protection solution that keeps a car’s paint job looking shiny and new without the need for time-consuming tasks such as waxing or polishing.
“It lasts for years,” Harmony said. “All you really have to do is wash it and use simple products to maintain it.”
The ceramic coating lasts around three to five years, Harmony specified.
In addition to their paint protection services, Motorcar Paint Protection also offers basic detailing and window tinting services.
Harmony currently runs Motorcar Paint Protection by himself, but as he moves into the new location he will be expanding his staff as needed.
Harmony has big plans to turn his new garage into a high-end shop offering quality services.
Motorcar Paint Protection’s new location will be opening along Rt. 378 in Lower Saucon Township. Harmony hopes to be in the new shop by mid-summer 2020.
“The shop itself is not going to be your empty warehouse,” Harmony said.
The shop will feature special clean rooms for installing film, in-ground lifts and an all-glass delivery bay.
