John P. Duffy Jr. (1963 – 2025)
John P. Duffy Jr., 61, of Plainfield Township, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of Denise L. (Denmead) Duffy. John was born in Bayonne, N.J., on Sept. 23, 1963 to the late John P. “Jack” Duffy Sr. and Emily (Sobieski). He was Storekeeper at Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton, N.J., and starting at EMST at the same location. John graduated from Wilson Area High School in 1981. His passion and loyalty for 47 years were to the following, but not limited to the Dewey Fire Co.; EMS/EVOC Instructor; serving Lehigh University, NASCAR and Pocono Raceway; 14 years of the Eastern PA EMS Council, Suburban Rescue Squad, Easton Rescue Squad, Forks Rescue, Hecktown Ambulance, Bethlehem Township/Medic I and the former Hanover/Hecktown/Bath/East Allen Squad.
SURVIVORS
John is survived by his loving wife of 16 years; stepson: Joseph Hulshizer; feline companions: Tigger and Samantha; sister: Ann Marie Stephens of Schnecksville; nephew: Joseph H. (Kelsey) Stephens Jr. of Allentown; niece: Carol L. (Cody) Sizemore of Allentown; brothers: Tim Sullivan of Slatington, Brian Flavelle of Easton. He was predeceased by a brother: Ted Sroko.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to a visitation period from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The visitation period will be followed by the service at 7 p.m. The Walk of Honor and Flag Line to the Lehigh Valley Crematory will conclude the services.
