‘She Nailed It!’ Event Returns to Dimmick Park May 5

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Local teams of women showing off their hammering skills for a great cause will return to Hellertown’s Dimmick Park Monday, May 5 at 1 p.m. for the She Nailed It! competition and tailgate event in support of Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley.

Held the first Monday in May, the event features women from all walks of life in head-to-head battle. In their arsenals are nails, hammers and two-by-fours. According to Habitat, the event not only raises money for their efforts to provide affordable housing for local families, but also empowers women and promotes self-reliance and strength through shelter for all people.

In addition to the spectacle of the competition itself, there will be food trucks, wine and spirits hammer pulls, a basket raffle, a silent auction and more. For more information about She Nailed It, follow the Facebook event.

Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley builds strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter and believes in a world where everyone deserves a decent place to live. The organization’s Homeownership and Critical Home Repair Programs serve local, hardworking, low to moderate income families seeking a hand up–not a hand out–on their path to affordable and sustainable homeownership in Northampton and Lehigh counties. Since 1989, Habitat Lehigh Valley has built and renovated 140 Lehigh Valley homes in furtherance of its mission, which is also supported through the operation of its ReStore locations in Hellertown and Whitehall. For more information, visit Habitatlv.org. The Hellertown ReStore, located at 38 Main St., is now open for shopping Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is open for donations Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
